Same blog taste, now with agency filling.
Starting something new is always difficult and you will probably end up with a few blisters. In that sense, launching a business is a lot like breaking in a new pair of shoes.
The excitement and expectation that you start off with will wane as you settle into a daily grind and it's up to you and your team to keep the initial shine and novelty of the company firmly in place. The difference makers? Focus, commitment, and consistency.
Over the past year, The Lost Jacket has grown into something special. It has been the focal point for discussion, learning and a unique voice within the marketing and public relations world.
The community has thrived and diversified. Every day I'm able to connect with old friends and new ones who visit this blog. It's because of this community that I have been able to meet, work and develop relationships with a number of awesome people.
I'm going to attempt to name a few of them here:
Daniel Honigman: For forcing me to starting this blog.
Maria Thurrell: Thanks for giving me advice, guidance and insight from your launch in 2007. I can't emphasize enough how helpful this was.
Bobbie Carlton: For connecting me with the Boston consulting, marketing and PR scene. As well as giving huge amount of insight into how to going about
David Mullen: For being the funny, helpful and inspiring guy that he is. Without him? I don't end up working at Mullen.
Edward Boches: I've occasionally learned more stuff from Edward in a day then I did in my entire four years of college. He also calls me on my bullshit on a regular basis (which is much appreciated).
Greg Verdino: Who answers a cold email? Apparently, Greg does. Helped spur me on for sure.
Len Kendall: For being the Chicago version of me.
Amy Mengel and Chrystie Corns: For inviting me to come speak at their social media breakfasts.
Adam Pieniazek: For making this site pretty.
Terry Lozoff: Great to see things from the experiential and execution side. Have learned a lot (and will continue to do so.)
Sharon Feder: I heart Mashable and the exposure it has given me.
Beth Harte: For actually paying attention to me early on. (Not for bad things either.)
Amy Vernon: For putting The Lost Jacket on the map with this post: Beards+Social Media=Win
Ross Kimbarovsky and Mike Samson: For being great people (especially when they didn't have to be).
Cortlandt Johnson, Jake Cacciagipalia, and Alexa Scordato: Look at how far we've come with DartBoston. Let's keep up the momentum and keep kicking ass.
David Spinks, Ryan Stephens and Lauren Fernandez: Take notice. These guys are going to keep rocking it.
Lisa Barone: Whose style of "take no prisoners" blogging inspires my own.
Carla Blumenthal: Carla. You rock. Can't wait to see what kind of awesome stuff you will be doing over at Mr. Youth and for this blog as a writer.
Today, The Lost Jacket is a fully functioning Social Agency.
What's a social agency? It's a hybrid agency. Taking the best of marketing, public relations and integrating social media into their everyday applications. The social tools, techniques and strategy I can provide will augment your existing business, not replace and retool it. Think of The Lost Jacket as the ultimate multiplier for your business.
Have a project, campaign or need a bad ass marketing plan? Look no further.
