Pretty much. All Your Base Are Belong To Us.

Agreed Narciso. Passion will always trump any artificially created campaign. You need to actually believe in what you are doing and it needs to have the backing of the community in order to be successful.

Great advice, Stuart.

Viral seems to be a term loosely thrown around by marketing departments hoping to replicate the success of a few. I guess if you approach a campaign/program with that mindset, you'll probably be disappointed with the results.

*play them off Keyboard Cat"

This reminds me of the GREAT LINE from the Outsiders where Ralph Macchio's character tells Pony Boy to 'Stay Gold'...perhaps one of the coolest lines in a movie. Anyhow, and to your point, when you venture out to 'create' a viral video, you may as well try creating magic in a bottle - it just won't work.

You've got to create something born of things like
* passion
* enthusiasm
* vision

It has worked for things like the iPod and the Wii gaming system - so why not you and your campaign...? So long as you 'stay gold' in your vision, you will get that viral effect you desire...perhaps not in a timeframe that you/your client desires, but I firmly believe that REAL PASSION for a product/vision BREEDS EXCELLENCE
