Recently David Spinks wrote a guest post for The Lost Jacket and ended up gaining employment. Where? At a new start-up: Scribnia, which is a community for bloggers. I guess some good deeds do get rewarded because I am now Scribnia's Author of the Day (badass).  Even cooler? You guys get to try out this new service. All you have to do is input "stuartfoster" and you can rate any blog author on the site.

Here are the details in the form of a an email I received from co-founder Russ D' Souza:

Congratulations! You have been selected as , a new feature where we showcase a top rated author on our site. Your profile will be showcased on Friday May 15th and for that full day (Friday morning through night) your readers will be able to access your page at http://scribnia.com/author/show/379/stuart-foster/ without having to supply an alpha code.

Normally, only registered and approved alpha users can write reviews. However, your readers simply have to enter "stuartfoster" as an alpha code that day and they will be instantly approved. Please let us know if you have any questions; we are excited about offering you this opportunity.

So I know a lot of you are asking yourselves: What is Scribnia? Well put simply it's a community for bloggers and their readers to interact and rate each other. The community is young but very knowledgeable and a lot of positive things have come from my involvement with the site.

You can rate them on a scale from 1-10 and offer helpful feedback as well as recommend (or dissuade) other users from checking them out. One of the neat things that Scribnia does is offer contextual ratings about the blogger based on category/niche that the blogger fits into. It's a really cool insight that definitely adds to my understanding of my blog as well as what my reader demographic could potentially be made up of.

So check it out. I can guarantee if you poke around long enough and invest some time reviewing (as well as adding new authors) the community will greatly benefit. Thanks to Russ and David for allowing me to present this to you. Now go out and explore Scribnia!
